Accounts Technician - Specialist Exteriors Contractor - £30k to £35k - Surrey. A family run specialist exteriors sub-contractor based in Redhill Surrey are seeking an Accounts Technician who will play a key role in modifying and improving the company accounting process and procedure. The successful candidate will benefit from the mentoring of the Managing Director with full support to deliver a slick accounting process.

About the Client:

Based in Redhill, Surrey my client are a specialist Contractor providing a Design, Supply and Installation service to the Building and Construction Industry for aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling and bespoke solutions.They turnover close to £5m annually and deliver interesting projects with 90% of their workload in London. Project examples include: Virgin Atlantic, University College, London, The Ministry of Defence, Italian Embassy, London, Imperial College, London, London Zoo, National Theatre, Docklands Light Railway, The Royal Festival Hall.

About the Role:

  • Administering payrolls
  • Liaising with managerial staff, colleagues and clients
  • Arranging payments for invoices
  • Undertaking financial administration
  • Monitoring financial transactions
  • Bookkeeping
  • Preparing accounts, reports, budgets, commentaries and financial statements
  • Calculating end of year accounts
  • Consulting
  • Ensuring compliance with taxation legislation.
  • Advising on and controlling income and expenditure budgets

About the Candidate:

  • A thorough, methodical approach
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent commercial sense
  • Good IT skills, particularly in the use of spreadsheets
  • Self-motivation
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • An understanding of business practices gained through work experience may be helpful
