Assistant Contracts Manager - Fit Out & Refurb - £35k to £45k - Berkshire. The opportunity for a driven and ambitious Assistant Contracts Manager who has ideally progressed from a site level position within Office Refurb/Fit Outs who would be keen to join a stable business and achieve personal success. The successful candidate will join a successful business based in Berkshire and will support and be mentored by a Senior Contracts Manager in delivering contracts from £150k-£1.5m predominantly around the Thames Valley region.

About the Role:

  • You will support and be mentored by a Senior Contracts Manager in delivering contracts from £150k-£1.5m predominantly around the Thames Valley region
  • Full training will be provided
  • Mirror the Senior Contracts Manager on daily duties
  • Liaise with pre-contracts department and clients to facilitate efficient job hand over on receipt of orders
  • Carry out pre-start site surveys
  • Order materials & allocate labour. Co-ordinate their delivery on time- and site- specific basis
  • Ensure familiarity with site; develop & maintain good relationships with site supervisors
  • Ensure that Health and Safety requirements on site are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure that projects run to time and on budget
  • Handling ad hoc client and team requests
  • Record keeping, filing, managing appointments and correspondence O&M documentation
 

About the Candidate:

  • Numerate and literate with very good spoken English. Good knowledge of various computer packages including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
  • Prior experience on site within Office Fit Out/Refurbishment environment with a desire to move into contracts/operations management
  • Good organiser and time manager
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills (verbal and written), with team, suppliers, site supervisors and clients
  • Good overall IT skills
  • Strong commitment to the role and delivering on objectives/deadlines
  • Positive attitude and friendly outlook
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritising to meet deadlines, juggling busy workload and multi-tasking
  • High attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, efficiently managing own time and working alone where necessary, as well as part of a team
