Assistant Estimator - Ceilings & Partitions - £20k to £30k - Surrey. A £12m Ceilings & Partitions specialist based near Croydon would like an ambitious and driven individual who is keen to invest in an extensive training program. The successful candidate will join as an Assistant Estimator supporting a Senior Estimator and will play a key role in growing the business to the projected turnover of £20m within 3-5 years.

They offer a multi-disciplined interiors service, predominantly ceilings and partition services which are complimented by their bespoke architectural and steel frame construction services and specialise in both traditional and design and build projects. My client have established a reputation with their clients for offering performance-engineered solutions, reducing unnecessary cost, minimising waste and delivering on time. They carry this ethos forward to ensure their Clients and their project teams get the best job possible in terms of cost, quality, performance and professionalism. My client is looking for an experienced Assistant Estimator in and around Surrey.

About the Role:

  • Prepare documentation to assist the Senior Estimator
  • Attend project start up meetings and site visits
  • Produce enquiry schedules from tender documentation
  • Gather details for developing subcontractor packages
  • Maintain internal supply chain databases
  • Ensure that final touches are complete when submitting tender
  • Set a personal example with respect to good business practice
  • Positive promotion of the Company to their existing Clients, new Clients and potential Clients as well as peers within the construction industry
  • Any other responsibilities which we may reasonably ask you to undertake and which are appropriate to your position

About the Candidate:

  • 1-2 year’s construction experience will suffice ideally in a similar position
  • Must be flexible and able to work as part of a team and using own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages
  • Literate and Numerate
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Must live within a commutable distance of Croydon
  • UK residents only
