CAD Engineer - M&E Contracting - £35k - £40k - South East. A well-established M&E Contractor part of a much larger group of companies are looking for an M&E CAD Engineer to undertake a new role within their business. This role encompasses the M&E CAD Engineer role but also offers the opportunity to work within a more wide-ranging role within project delivery. This role will enable the right candidate to learn about variations, attend meetings, O&M Manuals and other elements of the PM role. You will be working on an excellent array of mainly commercial projects within the M4 Corridor and going towards London. They are a well-known contractor with an excellent reputation of developing individuals and a low staff turnover. This role will suit an individual who has experience within M&E AutoCad and is looking to progress their career.

About the Client:

A well-established Mid-Size M&E Contractor based in the Oxfordshire area, they undertake mainly commercial sector projects within the M4 Corridor up to the value of around £5m. Part of a much larger group of companies they have excellent backing and investment. They have an excellent reputation in developing individuals within the industry and offering promotion opportunities. My client is looking for an experienced CAD Engineer in and around South East.

About the Role:

  • To collaborate with Main Contractors and Consultants, and produce accurate working drawings for secured M&E Projects within a designated time frame
  • To produce and distribute for approval, superseded working drawings in line with any design/specification changes
  • Ensure drawings register is kept up to date with latest issues distributed and superseded issues returned to head office
  • To update and distribute current accurate information, to all relevant project stakeholders
  • To support the Contract Manager with the RFI process to ensure variations are accurate and in line with any design changes
  • Through liaison with both suppliers and the central procurement team, ensure best value opportunities are achieved without detriment to quality
  • Update contract programme when advised of any changes required and record reasons
  • Manage applications for payment in line with protocol
  • Meet the clients’ expectations with regard to contract paperwork
  • Ensure paperwork, files and organization is compliant with procedures
  • To produce succinct, accurate technical information and “as fitted” drawings, to assist in the production of O&M manuals

About the Candidate:

  • M & E AutoCAD Experience
  • IT skills including MS Office Suite and email
  • Excellent organizational ability
  • Good customer service skills
  • Confident communication both written and verbal
  • Professional attitude
  • Previous experience in similar technical support role
  • Excellent man-management skills
  • Ambitious and looking to progress
