Contracts Manager - Drylining - £65k - London. An opportunity for an experienced and proven Drylining Contracts Manager has arisen within the London region of a progressive and dynamic specialist group of companies. I have outlined further details below: * Responsible for a diverse team of staff, including production, D&B, planning and liaison with external consultants (D&B etc.) * Heads up significant business in excess of 30m per annum including management of a large team(in excess of 15 own staff and 100 labour operatives), * Keeps up to date with modern methods of construction, * Reports to either Construction Director or Managing Director

A very successful, established group of construction based companies who turnover close to £80m and employ around 1,000 people are unrivalled within each of their specialist sectors. They include: Drylining & Partitioning, Suspended Ceilings, Joinery Installations, External Facades & Cladding, multi-trade Fit Out which they specialise in plus many other disciplines. With regional offices across the UK my client deliver packages ranging in value from £10k to £15m. My client is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager in and around London.

About the Role:

  • Lead business operations such that the staff are appointed and motivated and all income, profit, growth and risk objectives are managed and customer specifications are achieved
  • Ensure that strategies and plans developed and implemented to grow the business in line with agreed regional business objectives
  • Personally manage and put in place customer relationship management process and procedures such as customer expectations are managed and achieved
  • Ensure the staff and labour are recruited, trained and managed such that a motivated work force is achieved
  • Create and sustain a culture and working environment that drives employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all that plans are developed and deployed and the business controlled such that the business financial targets and objectives are met
  • Quantify all business and project risk such that senior personal are informed and that the business risk is identified and managed within agreed and acceptable boundaries
  • Ensure that all information is controlled and entered into the appropriate systems such that an accurate view of the financial performance is communicated and maintained
  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of all staff and subcontractors within their control under the strict observance of the company safety policy
  • Appreciate and understand the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these within decision making

About the Candidate:

  • Communicates with colleagues and clients in a warm and persuasive way both formally and informally. Alters style and manner to suit audience
  • Plans ahead, priorities tasks and monitors progress against plan, making alterations where necessary. Organises material and human resources
  • Considers potential problems in advance and identifies opportunities and threats through analysing trends. Guides others in implanting solutions
  • Ensures that all viewpoints are considered and gains agreement on mutually acceptable outcomes, whilst maintaining the interests of the business
  • Assesses risk and consequences before making a judgment on available evidence and ensures that decision is implemented. Delegates where appropriate
  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the Drylining sector
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
