Estimating Project Manager - Commercial Fit Out - £65k - West Sussex The opportunity for a commercially astute, results driven Project Manager who is able to estimate/price Commercial Fit Out/Refurb projects valued up to £2m. The successful candidate will join a fast growing business and will support the Director of Operations in growing the business and raising the companies profile in the marketplace.

About the Client:

Established over 30 years ago with two regional offices, one in West Sussex and the other in the City of London my client provide businesses, the public sector, schools, colleges and universities nationwide and abroad with consultancy, design and furniture. Turnover currently stands around the £15m mark but my client has the vision to considerably increase that figure over the coming years and improve their ever-increasing profile across London. My client is looking for an experienced Estimating Project Manager in and around West Sussex.

About the Role:

  • Running Interior Projects from conception to completion
  • Organise and coordinate interior fit out projects
  • Secure projects- working closely with the sales team and margin analysis through the accounts team, ensuring project scopes are concise and profitable. Have a good understanding of the refurbishment market products
  • Ensure all quotations and tenders are completed and handed-in to time frames and deadlines. And be responsible for creating the pitch document to the client
  • Deal with and respond to client enquiries. Prepare and agree final accounts with the client. Work with accounts team to create accurate invoices and pricing applications as required
  • Preparation of project scopes, budgets and schedules
  • Monitor project progress to ensure projects stay on time and on budget
  • Development of preliminary studies, cost estimates, and contract documents
  • Review and validation of sub-contractor  invoices
  • Conduct site visits for quality control and monitoring of contractual work
  • Evaluate coordinate and resolve legal, political and regulatory issues related to the project
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and HSE
  • Overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of a project
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external meetings. Undertake site inspections either with the sales team or on own to establish size and scope of project
  • Price projects from client specifications either from site visits or tender documents, including understanding any drawings provided using standard cost spread sheet
  • Clearly identifying profit and overheads, margins and net purchases, and negotiating rates and discounts with suppliers & sub- contractors
  • Negotiating with suppliers to ensure maximum discount on supplies
  • Use Microsoft Office, Excel and Project
  • Maintain a good understanding of construction and surveying
  • Liaise with and assist the Director with all projects

About the Candidate:

  • Must have experience operating as a Projects Manager within the interior refurbishment office fit-out industry
  • Must be able to estimate works and deal with multiple tenders at any one time
  • Must be able prepare and agree final accounts with the client. Work with accounts team to create accurate invoices and pricing applications as required
  • Must be commercially astute
  • Be able to take a project from inception through to completion
  • The ideal candidate will come from a commercial background and have a thorough understanding of the fit out industry
  • Have the ability to develop and nurture client relationships both internally and externally
  • Must have a proven track record of running projects ranging in value from £200k-£2m
  • Must have relevant tickets/qualifications
  • Must be prepared to spend up to two days a week at the company Head Office in West Sussex and most of your week on sites and visiting clients in London
