EstimatorDrylining & Ceilings

Estimator - Drylining & Ceilings - £40k to £45k - Bristol. My client require a proven Estimator who will join their established Drylining/Ceilings business based close to Bristol. The right candidate would ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience working for a Drylining/Ceilings Subcontractor and be competent in the measurement and pricing of  Metal Stud Partitioning, Plasterboarding, Tape, Joint and Plastering, Hardwall, Acoustic Wall Partitions, Suspended Ceilings including Mineral, Metal & Pan, MF Ceilings, Acoustic Rafts & Baffles, Demountable and Glazed Partitions. The successful candidate should have excellent attention to detail, good organisational skills and be capable of scheduling and managing their own time.

About the Client:

My client are a Bristol based company founded in the early 2000’s. Although primarily a carpentry company they also carried out some major fit out contracts. It became apparent that the company was becoming more than an out and out carpentry contractor. Therefore in 2011 the company was rebranded and the company name changed and the Directors felt at the time this was necessary to encapsulate all of the services the team can now provide.

About the Role:

  • Tendering and securing large projects with values in excess of £2m
  • Ability to negotiate with clients and offer input during the tender process
  • Negotiating with suppliers and obtaining competitive quotations
  • Good IT knowledge and ability to work in our bespoke Excel software packages
  • Expectation to meet client tender deadlines
  • Good team ethics and ability to hand over contracts smoothly to contracts department

About the Candidate:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator position within a Drylining & Ceilings Sub-Contracting for at least 3 years
  • Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sale
  • Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Have good practical organisation skills, planning of resources and programme scheduling
  • Be able to provide both summarised and detailed reports, on current activities. Priorities and organise, taking a methodical approach
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic with a high standard of personal performance
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Present information clearly, concisely and professionally
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer focused
  • Communicator & motivator with ability to communicate across all levels of seniority from the workface through to Senior Management level
