Group Health & Safety Officer - Architectural Metalwork - £45k - North Yorkshire. One of the country’s leading Architectural Metalwork specialists are seeking a Strong Health & Safety officer to take ownership of Health, Safety & Environmental function across the business. You will have a strong understanding of Health & Safety in both Fabrication/Manufacturing Environments as well as Construction Site based experience, and will be rewarded with a progressive role within a growing business.

My client is looking for an experienced Group Health & Safety Officer in and around North Yorkshire

About the Role:

  • Offering Health, Safety & Environmental advice to all levels within the business
  • Undertaking accident investigations and creating a report on your findings
  • Conducting inspections across a range of national construction sites, coupled with overseeing HS&E for the 100,000 sq ft fabrication workshop
  • Compiling method statements and risk assessments for new works
  • To participate in Site Safety Meetings on each site with site/project management and client
  • To carry out daily duties including site inductions, collecting all training records, carrying out walks of the site and the updating and recording of all safety paperwork
  • Reporting into the Managing Director and working closely with the other key business Directors to ensure the ongoing development and continuous improvement of Health & Safety across the business as a whole

About the Candidate:

  • You will have Health & Safety experience within both construction as well as fabrication / metal manufacturing. This is important due to the dual nature of the role.
  • Holder of a NEBOSH General / in Construction. Holding a NEBOSH Diploma, BSc or MSc or equivalent would be preferred
  • Holder of a current CSCS Card
  • Continually keep up to date with Health & Safety legislation, and is active within the Health & Safety community
  • Experience of working to ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001. ISO 45001 awareness would be advantageous
  • Willing and able to cover sites nationally, including 2/3 days away each week.
