Health & Safety Advisor - Construction - £40k - Surrey. The construction arm of a leading property company are seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional to fill their first construction based Health & Safety Appointment.

About the Client:

Working privately and with local authorities, we are a leading property business working within the South of the UK. Our properties are built and managed by us, and with a turnover well in excess of £200m annually, we have a structure that enables us to reinvest our profits into a wide range of socially responsible projects. We have a dedicated construction arm within the business, and are seeking someone to lead Health & Safety across all new build activity in Sussex and Surrey.

About the Role:

  • Providing guidance on Health & Safety legislation with regards to live construction sites across Sussex and Surrey, and ensure all staff are inducted onto site
  • This role will initially start out as a 12 month fixed term contract, with the likelihood to go permanent for a successful individual
  • Work in conjunction with the site teams to drive a positive Health & Safety culture through all levels on site
  • Produce and Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements for a range of activity on residential new build sites
  • Assist with the production of Construction Phase Plans and compile Health & Safety files, whilst giving advice, guidance and support, to promote a positive health and safety culture
  • Deliver toolbox talks to operatives to ensure Health & Safety is at the forefront of all works undertaken
  • Independently manage your own diary to ensure you are regularly visiting the 5 sites that will be within the remit for the role

About the Candidate:

  • Holder of a NEBOSH General / In Construction
  • Experience working within the new-build construction industry across any sector
  • CDM experience
  • Be computer literate and able to pick up new systems
  • Hold a clean and valid driver’s licence and run your own vehicle (fuel costs are fully covered)
  • Ideally a holder of a SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Minimum of 1 year in a construction H&S position
