Health & Safety Officer - Mechanical & Electrical - £25k to £32,500 - Hampshire. We are a leading Mechanical and Electrical installation business seeking a passionate, engaging and affable Health & Safety Officer to assist with the day to day Health & Safety requirements of the business. As a regional leader for Mechanical and Electrical Installations, we are specialised at Design and Build installations for the Educational, Residential, Commercial and Scientific markets. The business has a range of capabilities including Install, Maintenance and Design & Build, and a culture across the business that focusses on a family-run style working environment. About the Role:

  • Working with an existing external Health & Safety provider, you will continue to drive the safety ethos across the business
  • Providing advice on the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and guide Project and Site Managers to ensure that they are specific, well considered and will mitigate any and all risk
  • Compile Health & Safety reports on the performance within the business, and provide advice on any improvements that can be made to the Operations Director and the Managing Director
  • Conduct Audits and Inspections across live sites, and follow up with operatives and Project/Site managers
  • Deliver a range of toolbox talks on site, and drive a safety focus across the business
  • Provide advice on changing H&S legislation, and how it can affect the business
  • Maintain CHAS and Safecontractor accreditations and look at any other relevant accreditations the business can gain moving forwards
  • Advice on Health & Safety by celebrating success rather the chastising non-conformance. Being able to be accessible, consultative and easy to approach will be key to success within this role.

About the Candidate:

  • Holder of a NEBOSH General or In Construction – Construction preferred
  • Be GradIOSH or working towards (with active CPD)
  • Experience of covering Health & Safety on live construction sites
  • Willing and able to cover an area from Bristol to Brighton, and up to the M25 (no sites within the M25)
  • Own and run your own vehicle
  • Looking to make a long-term move into a new business
