Project Manager - Externals & Internals - Drylining - £50k - Cambridgeshire. An opportunity for a proven Project Manager with a stable employment history to join a growing yet established Drylining, Facades, Interiors and Exteriors sub-contractor. The successful candidate will be based on two separate prestigious projects with a combined value of £5m in and around the Cambridge area.

Through hard work, passion to deliver perfect installations and knowledge gained through experience and continual training, they have gained a reputation for high quality workmanship and innovative solutions in all sectors of installation. They are extremely successful as a fast track fit-out contractor, regularly being called in where other contractors have failed. Turnover currently stands around the £15m and they deliver interesting projects ranging from Embassy’s, Large Flagship Superstores and High End Restaurants. My client is looking for an experienced Project Manager - Externals & Internals in and around Cambridgeshire.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will deliver two separate projects 10 miles apart around the Cambridge area.
  • The first project you will be tasked with delivering is a 29 week Commercial project where you will take care of the Facades, Rainscreen, Render, Brise Soleil and SFS package
  • The 2nd project will be a Drylining/Ceilings/Partitions package again on another Commercial project with a one year duration
  • To manage and run projects allocated by the Director(s), supported by an allocated project team, in a responsible, cost & time efficient manner and within the commercial parameters provided by post calculations and CVRs
  • You will be responsible for a workforce of up to 80 at any one time

  • Liaise with pre-contracts department and clients to facilitate efficient job hand over on receipt of orders
  • Carry out pre-start site surveys
  • Order materials & allocate labour and co-ordinate their delivery on time- and site- specific basis
  • Ensure familiarity with site; develop & maintain good relationships with site managers
  • Understand site requirements & manage multiple installations
  • Ensure that Health and Safety requirements on site are adhered to at all times
  • Document & process variation orders
  • Ensure that projects run to time and on budget
  • Creating and maintaining an efficient Projects management system, including Tender analysis file
  • Handling ad hoc client and team requests
  • Record keeping, filing, managing appointments and correspondence O&M documentation
  • Approving purchase invoice payments
 

About the Candidate:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years in a similar role for an established Drylining or Facades contractor
  • Have solely managed projects upwards of £5m
  • Numerate and literate with very good spoken English. Good knowledge of various computer packages including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
  • Prior experience as a Project Manager with demonstrated understanding of requirements of role
  • Experience liaising with and instructing labour
  • Good organiser and time manager
  • Focus on project management and delivery of projects on time, on budget and to a high standard
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills (verbal and written), with team, suppliers, site supervisors and clients
  • Good overall IT skills
  • Strong commitment to the role and delivering on objectives/deadlines
  • Positive attitude and friendly outlook
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritising to meet deadlines, juggling busy workload and multi-tasking
  • High attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, efficiently managing own time and working alone where necessary, as well as part of a team
  • Must reside in the UK
