Senior Quantity Surveyor - Drylining - Day Rate £250 - £270 - Greater Manchester. I am looking to speak with established Surveyors with drylining or sub-contract interiors experience at either intermediate or senior level to deliver a multi-million pound drylining package on a high spec apartment new build based in Manchester. My client is open to securing a Freelance or Permanent Surveyor either with a day rate on offer between £250-£270 or a negotiable salary with a competitive package. They include: Drylining & Partitioning, Suspended Ceilings, Joinery Installations, External Facades & Cladding, multi-trade Fit Out which they specialise in plus many other disciplines. With regional offices across the UK my client deliver packages ranging in value from £10k to £15m.

About the Role:

  • Intermediate to Senior level Quantity surveyor role based on a large High Spec Apartment New Build where you will be responsible for commercially delivering a multi-million pound Drylining package in the centre of Manchester
  • The project programme is up to 2 years but you will have to go their head office in Yorkshire once a week for weekly meetings
  • Prepare and monitor project cash flow forecasts
  • Price and negotiate contract variations
  • Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters including reviewing and drafting of correspondence
  • Prepare submit and negotiate project final accounts
  • Certification of  monthly valuations and final accounts
  • Ensure that business commercial processes are adhered to at project level
  • Assist in preparation and adherence to project purchasing targeting and costing budgets
  • Site measures to be undertaken at least once a month and detail recorded on site measure sheets
  • Able to work well within a team based environment
  • To carry out monthly valuations of work in progress, including forecasting of final costs and sales
  • A key role in mentoring and training more junior surveyors

About the Candidate:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience of delivering Drylining sub-contract packages will be an advantage
  • Must have experience within the interiors sector
  • Commercially astute, numerate, risk averse & able to accurately forecast cost & sales
  • Multi-tasking, self-motivated, energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Must be able to understand tenders
  • Have good practical organisation skills, planning of resources and programme scheduling
  • Be able to provide both summarised and detailed reports, on current activities
  • Prioritise and organise, taking a methodical approach
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic with a high standard of personal performance
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Present information clearly, concisely and professionally
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer focused
  • Communicator & motivator with ability to communicate across all levels of seniority from the workface through to Senior Management level

  • Must be able to commute into the centre of Manchester
  • Must be UK based
