Small Works Electrical Project Manager - M&E Contracting - £30k to £35k - Hertfordshire. A Herts based M&E Contractor are looking for a small-works Electrical PM/CM to take the lead in dealing with the smaller scale projects they currently undertake. Through sheer volume of work they are in need of another electrically-biased Manager. The opportunity provides an excellent stepping stone towards larger-scale projects within the company offering excellent progression.

A well-established and thriving M&E Contractor, they undertake a wide range of projects within the Commercial and High-End residential sectors within London and the South East. An Installation and Maintenance provider they offer a complete solution to their diverse client base. My client is looking for an experienced Small Works Electrical Project Manager in and around Hertfordshire.

About the Role:

  • To undertake specific projects from inception through design, tender, installation and commissioning to final handover within agreed programmes
  • Supervising design and installation work and programme
  • Supervising employees and sub-contractors on site with regard to standard of work, conduct and time keeping
  • Procurement of materials for projects
  • Client liaison
  • Maintain project budget information and provide reports
  • Complete NICEIC Certification using computerised system
  • Provide client quotations
  • Provide technical advice to employees, sub-contractors and clients
  • Carry out initial site surveys
  • Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met on all projects including provision of Method Statements & Risk Assessments

About the Candidate:

  • Excellent inter-personal skills; able to influence, persuade and negotiate with all levels of people effectively
  • Ability to cope under pressure and ensure deadlines are met
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organisation skills
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative to get to the heart of a problem and take it through to completion
  • Background in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems
  • Experience of managing projects and delivering against contracted targets
  • Experience of managing staff including sub-contractors
  • Experience of carrying out risk assessments and managing electrical safety at work
