One of the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of precast concrete solutions are looking for a Commercial Manager to cover a new range of schemes kicking off in the Lincolnshire area this year.

About the Client:

The client operates nationwide and offer an extensive range of quality precast concrete solutions that include drainage and water management, tunnels and shafts, rail, power and infrastructure along with many other areas. Their growth areas have been within large scale civil engineering across the UK, this spike in growth means they are now looking for competent leadership to make a success of these areas.

About the Role:

  • Negotiation of contracts and sub-contracts
  • Administration of contracts and sub-contracts including issue of required Notices
  • under the contracts
  • Attendance of pre-contract meetings
  • Preparation and valuation of interim applications and final accounts
  • Identification and notification of variations
  • Negotiation and resolution of contractual disputes
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Assessing and managing credit risks
  • Monthly WIP reports for accounts specifying and making provisions for any
  • known/potential risks
  • Preparation of payments for sub-contractors

About the Candidate:

  • Good knowledge of construction contract law
  • Experience in contract negotiation
  • Experience of administration of contracts and subcontracts
  • Claims and dispute resolution skills and proven record
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
  • Commercially aware
  • Time management and organisation skills
  • Good computer skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office in particularly Excel
  • Ability to work on own initiative, but understand level of responsibility within the team
  • Hold a valid driving license
  • Hold a current CSCS card
  • BSc (Hons 2.1) in Quantity Surveying (or similar)
  • Previous experience of working in the Precast Concrete sector
