Estimator/Contracts ManagerConstruction

Seeking an experienced Estimator/Contracts Manager with an established background in commercial flooring, to be a key member of the team, service existing business and help to further develop the company, a leading flooring specialist in the Midlands.

About the Client:

An established and renowned flooring contractor who are specialists in Commercial/Domestic flooring and Commercial Wall and Floor Tiling. They specialise restaurants to bathrooms, health clubs and spas, swimming pools and other sports venues. Their projects are nationwide with values ranging from a few thousand up to £250K. The successful candidate have proven experience at senior management level  and a good knowledge within flooring.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing tenders, measuring and submitting domestic quotations and contract work. They will need to work efficiently and effectively to see jobs through from initiation through to completion.                                               Jobs Pricing:
  • Producing accurate quotations for prospective jobs
  • Measuring up jobs for all types of contract and domestic work
  • Dealing with suppliers and negotiating keenest prices
  • Pricing for large scale contracts
Managing Team
  • Ensuring people turn up to jobs and deliver work to PMCs high standards
  • Organising appointments for fitters in fitting diary
  • Managing fitters schedule to ensure job obligations are met
Dealing with customers:
  • Providing friendly service to walk in customers
  • Manage relationships with key contractors
  • Ensuring enquires are dealt with appropriately
Other duties:
  • Willing to undertake health and safety/ industry mandatory training where required
  • Maintain up to date paperwork including record sheets: invoice information etc.
  • Participate in and contribute to weekly team meetings
  • Arrange and taking deliveries at our locally based warehouse
  • Other duties are reasonably required

About the Candidate:

Level of knowledge and/or educational qualifications required:
  • Educated to GCSE level
  • Good computer skills (outlook/Excell/Word)
Skills/Attributes required:
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Team player: willingness to share information across team and be able to learn from colleagues
  • Able to work under own initiative
  • Able to negotiate prices with sales representatives
  • Identify opportunities and see them through to completion
  • Problem solving and be willing to seek appropriate advice and support when necessary

  • A determination to deliver A customer focused service
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative, manage time effectively, progress tasks concurrently and work to deadlines
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Clean driving licence
Level of previous experience required:
  • Working in the contract flooring sector
  • Knowledge of Masterpiece software or, similar a bonus
