Project Manager - Decorative Plasterwork - £40k - London. A leading and established specialist decorative interiors contractor would like to employ a proven Contracts/Project Manager predominantly based out of their office in South London. A very exciting role for someone from a similar sector or a related interiors industry sector (eg. Ceilings, dry-lining, joinery etc) who will take full ownership of projects which in the past have included Buckingham Palace, Tate Britain, The Ritz, Windsor Castle and many other prestigious projects.

About the Client:

My client began creating interior decorative elements well over 200 years ago. Established as having great skill in composition mouldings and fibrous plasterwork, they grew to become one of the leading companies in the world. Recognised for craftsmanship and expertise in the field of interior decoration they continue to produce a wide range of precast plaster related decorations. Covering a wide range of sectors they have delivered quality projects including Buckingham Palace and Tate Britain.

About the Role:

  • The Project Manager takes the project from order to final account
  • Ensuring that the works are carried out to a high quality standard and within programme
  • Managing site teams / resources across various projects to ensure works are delivered on time
  • Client facing, ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Reading and understanding the client’s drawings and programme, preparing the sub-programme to meet these requirements or identify issues
  • Calling off materials from the workshop for delivery to site as required
  • Ensuring works are carried out safely and that our work areas are tidy
  • Writing method statements and risk assessments as required

About the Candidate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of construction, ideally (but not essential) in a similar sector or a related interiors industry sector (eg. Ceilings, dry-lining, joinery etc)
  • Commercial acumen
  • Computer literate, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Pro-active, can-do attitude
  • Desire to learn and improve
  • Knowledge of preparing and reading drawings and programmes of works
