Health and Safety Manager – Groundworks & RC FrameConstruction

We are currently recruiting for a dynamic and driven Health & Safety Manager to work with a leading multi-disciplinary Civil Engineering business within their RC Frames and Groundworks Division. You will have a strong determination to ensure this business and their sites always adheres to and exceeds the expectations of Health & Safety policy, and will do whatever it takes to make sure this is the case.

About the Role:

  • Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced
  • Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards
  • Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
  • Making changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation
  • In-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks; this can include the updating of company training plans and data base systems.
  • Keeping records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements
  • Recording of incidents and accidents and putting remedial actions into place
  • Being up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry
  • Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases

About the Candidate:

  • Experience with Civil Engineering OR RC Frame projects
  • Holder of NEBOSH in Construction, ideally holding or working towards NVQ Lvl 6 / NEBOSH Diploma
  • Highly PC literate as you will be expected to use multiple PC based systems
  • Holder of CSCS card
  • Understanding of risks associated with working at height
  • Currently reside within a commutable distance of London
